Our base for this holiday is the stunning Porte du Soleil region of the French Alps. Surrounded by the mountains of the Massif du Chablais the Porte du Soleil is an ideal location for snowshoeing as it has an excellent snow record with a huge variety of routes accessible via snowshoe. We walk through enchanted snow clad forests, past frozen lakes and take in unforgettable views from viewpoints completely inaccessible without snowshoes. Using the excellent local transport links and uplifts when necessary we have the flexibility to find the best snow and gives us a varied itinerary for the week. Snowshoes allow you to access more remote areas normally inaccessible in Winter, getting us deep into the unspoilt and idyllic landscape.

Accommodation

Accommodation is Chalet Montana in Montriond. It is situated amongst the timber and stone buildings that make up the typically Savoyard town and village of Morzine and Montriond, in the very heart of les Portes du soleil. Please click here for more information.

Meals

A hearty continental breakfast is served 7 mornings and a 3 course evening meal is served on 6 nightsin your chalet. The chalet also has a bar which serves drinks at lower prices than the bars in town. House wine is only 8 euros. A picnic lunch is provided for all 5 snowshoeing days which we all share out on the mountain somewhere looking at the beautiful views.

Fly to Geneva with your favourite airline from £45 return. Please provide your flight number and time of arrival so that we can arrange your transfers.
