Old slate mining town and traditional Alpine ski resort

snowshoeing near Morzine in the French Alps Morzine is a small family resort in the Haute-Savoie region of the French Alps. It is fully connected to the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area with 650km of runs. Despite its popularity with tourists and thriving restaurant and bar scene Morzine retains its Savoyard charm with its old town centre, weekly local produce market and unspoilt atmosphere.
On both sides of Morzine valley we have excellent introductory snowshoe walks; on the Super-Morzine ridge and on the Pleney side. At the head of the valley we have the quiet and and secluded Vallée de la Manche with its soaring cliffs and wild and remote snowshoe walks for the more adventurous.

Both Morzine and the Les Gets ski resort are excellent family ski resorts and both have lots of great options for non skiers.

Surrounded by the mountains of the Massif du Chablais the Portes du Soleil is an ideal location for snowshoeing as it has an excellent snow record with a huge variety of routes accessible via snowshoe. We walk through enchanted snow clad forests, past frozen lakes and take in unforgettable views from viewpoints completely inaccessible without snowshoes.

Our walks start from a number of locations in the Portes du Soleil using uplifts when necessary giving us the flexibility to find the best snow and choice of walks giving us a varied itinerary for the week.
